**** SIGHT WORD OF THE DAY!!!!****

When it comes to sight word recognition and mastery, we can never give our kids too many opportunities to learn and practice reading/writing these words.

The printables in this packet are designed to help our kids focus on recognition and spelling one sight word at a time. Kids will also break down each word by looking at the number of letters, vowels, consonants, and syllables contained in each as well as compare them to other sight words based on the number of letters (more/same/less). Our kids will then have the opportunity to make connections between sight words through rhymes.

These printables are great for introducing sight words, but they’re also a wonderful intervention and reinforcement tool. These make for a great “Word of the Day” study as well. There are so many ways to incorporate these into learning…the possibilities are endless!

A “word of the day” printable is also included in this packet. Print, laminate, and post in a visible spot in your classroom. I have mine on my white board next to my calendar and we add a new word to it every single day! There’s no such thing as too much practice!
