Happy MLK weekend!!! Do you get a 3-day break?? Or do you have to go to school on Monday?? The boys are off on Monday and we were thisexcited when they hopped in the car on Friday afternoon. My kindergartner exclaimed, "YESSSSS!!!!! We're off of homework for THREE whole days!!!! YESSSSSS!!!!" Bless him. 100th Day Fun for Everyone!
I’m gonna throw out a little confession. Once upon a time, I did not think the 100th day of school was a big deal. I really didn’t think anything of it at all to be totally honest. As the years went by, I realized it was kind of a big deal and each year since I made that shocking revelation, I’ve been trying like crazy to do everything I can to make the 100th day extra special for the kids. Can somebody tell me how it’s almost the 100th day of school?! I’m not complaining. Trust me. But really?! I feel like the years just go by quicker and quicker! Am I the only one that stresses thismuch about the regression of my kids after a long break?! I do this even after 3-day weekends. It's a sickness. I worry they'll forget absolutely everything I've taught them and they'll come back from break starting over at square one. Thankfully, that was not the case today {insert dramatic sigh of relief here}. I’m still in a little *shock* that the 100th day of school has come and gone. My kids were SO excited about the monumentous milestone that they just couldn’t contain themselves. My own little man talked about it for DAYS before it was time to celebrate! What Happened to Mrs. Carroll? And a Few Other Things…
I took a personal day on Monday. I hadn't seen my sweet family since mid-December, so I took my boys home for an extra long weekend. Mr. Spouse had to work. Boo. While I was out, I had my kids write about what they thought happened to me. I didn't tell them where I was going or what I was doing, so it was hilarious to read their responses when I got back!! 100th Day & Valentine’s
I got the sweetest email from a darling reader who wanted to know if I was okay because of my lack of blogging lately :) I’m a-ok, but my boys…well…they’re a different story. They both tested positive for type A flu last week and I was one busy momma! No time for anything other than snugglin’ the heck outta those kids. Even though the snuggles were sick induced, I’ll take what I can get! HA! I’m SO happy that they’re finally on the mend and back to normal!! I hope that’s the last of the sickies this season!!
