If you need a lighthearted, feel good read to get you into the holiday spirit, let A Cross Country Christmas, by Courtney Walsh be the one.
Lauren doesn’t love Christmas and rarely, if ever, makes it back home to the Midwest to celebrate the holidays with her family. She prefers busying herself with work instead. But things are different this December as her brother & sister-in-law are having their first baby and they really want Lauren home for the occasion. Lauren hates flying, so her brother arranges for her to catch a ride home to Illinois from California with his good friend, Will. A cross-country road trip with her longtime childhood crush?! Cue the sappy music!
How precious is this book?! Most definitely read like a Hallmark movie and who doesn’t love a good Hallmark movie during the holiday season?! I know I surely do so it comes as no surprise that this book was right up my reading alley.
A feel good, clean read that’s perfect to cozy up with during the holiday season. While Lauren wasn’t the most relatable and aggravated me more than I care to admit, I loved her growth as the story progressed. Will was a gem and their adventures during their cross country road trip was Hallmark worthy for sure. This one tugged at my tear ducts by the time it was all said and done. A really heartwarming, adorable read ❤️
If you’re a fan of cheesy, predictable, lighthearted Hallmark movies, go ahead and add this one to your holiday TBR.
4 out of 5 stars.
