I wanted to start off Christmas month with a charming holiday read and just happened to find The Plight Before Christmas, by Kate Stewart while browsing through the Amazon bookshelves. I hadn’t heard anything about this book beforehand and can’t figure out why everyone isn’t talking about it. Hands down one of my favorite reads to date!
Whitney isn’t having a very happy holiday season. She didn’t get the promotion she thought she would, her car breaks down, and now she’s stuck back at home for the holidays with her family…and her first love, Eli. The college boyfriend who broke her heart. Eli wants her back, but does Whitney want him, too?!
Oh my word, this book. THIS. BOOK. I’m SO happy this is how I started the holiday season. The absolute PERFECT book to read. I devoured every single word!
All I want for Christmas is Eli, oh my word. There was nothing I didn’t love about this book. Between the family dynamic, the lovable characters, the witty banter, and the chemistry between Eli & Whitney…it’s hard to say what I loved the most! Charming and laugh out loud funny…I wanna get lost in the pages all over again.
This was giving The Family Stone vibes (not necessarily in the storyline, but in the overall feel). Like a super steamy, slightly profane, Hallmark movie…and I loved every single bit. I will absolutely read this every holiday season…and I might just pick it up for a reread before the year is over! I would absolutely recommend this one!
