****KINDERGARTEN WINTER MATH CENTERS****

Feelin’ Frosty?!?! Here’s just the thing to warm you up! 12 winter themed math tub activities! These activities were created with the Kindergarten classroom in mind, but would be a great reinforcement for first grade as well.

Here’s what’s included:
*Snowman Find, Tally, & Graph – Find various snowmen in a picture, count, tally, and then graph.
*Read the Graph – a completed graph is provided and students will read the graph and interpret the data {record}
*Winter Positions – Students will complete a picture by listening to positional words that the teacher reads aloud.
*Snowman Sums of 10 – Students use a number line to count up to 10 from a chosen number then create a corresponding number sentence
*Count Up! – Students read a number and then find the next three numbers in sequence
*Where’s the Snowman Standing? – Students determine if the snowman is standing to the LEFT or RIGHT of an object and sort accordingly
*Brrr-fore & After – Students determine the numbers that come before and after a given number
*Which Mitten Has the Most/Least? – Students determine the greatest/least number in a set of 3 numbers {2 assessment sheets included…greatest/least}
*Cold Weather Counting – 4 different options with this activity include
—Even & Odd -Students sort even & odd number cards
—Sequencing number cards from 1-25
—Sequencing number cards counting by 5’s {5-100}
—Sequencing number cards counting by 10’s {10-100}
*A Little Birdie Told Me – Students solve number sentences to determine if the sum is greater than 6 {true/false sorting}
*Read the Calendar – Whole Group Activity – students read the calendar and answer various questions related to it {days of the week, month, birthdays, holidays, etc.}
*Snowman Sums – Students combine two sets of objects and count the amount altogether then create a number sentence to match
*Subitizing Snowmen – Students match a set of objects to the corresponding numeral, number card, and tally marks
*A Bunch of Buttons – Students count the number of buttons on a snowman and write the matching number
*Missing Mittens – Students determine the numbers that are missing in a set
