Thank You For Listening is about a once hopeful actress, Sewanee Chester, who is sidelined by an injury as the result of a freak accident and now narrates audiobooks. Sewanee, or Swan as she’s affectionately referred, has made quite a name for herself in the world of audiobook narration under a pseudonym. Romance novels are Swan’s specialty although she no longer narrates them, but she reluctantly agrees to co-narrate one last romance by a beloved late author in an effort to financially support her grandmother. Her co-narrator is none other than the industry’s renowned Brock McNight. Enter the possibility for romance and another chance at love.

I absolutely ADORED this book!!! It was full of everything I love…witty banter, romance, a little spice, self-realization…just so, so good! And hearing the author narrate it made it all the more entertaining. Again, Julia Whelan is my favorite audiobook narrator so she could read the phone book and I’d hang onto every word, but honestly such an incredible author, too.

Swan’s relationship with her Blah Blah (her grandmother) sort of stole the show for me because I love a well written familial relationship. Very realistic and endearing. And because I also love a good dose of romance, I was particularly fond of her budding relationship with Brock…all the witty banter I could’ve wanted. I really appreciated the peek into the world of audiobook narration, too. As someone who really does love a good audiobook, the behind-the-scenes sneak into this industry was so interesting! Added a whole other layer of goodness to this story.

I would recommend this book over and over…a little something inside for everyone. And if you’ve never listened to an audiobook, I would suggest starting here!! Or really listening to anything Julia Whelan narrates. I promise she’ll convert you into an audiobook fan in a heartbeat 🙂 Such a great book!
