Goodness I love that word! Unfortunately I'm nowhere near the age I'm actually able to reap the benefits or enjoy it myself, but I do love that word a lot. Although I'm not quite ready to retire anytime soon, I do have lots of resources that are ready to take the leap. And because retirement has it's benefits, these resources will be offered at a deep discount before they're gone for good!!! I'll be posting my retiring sets throughout the summer, so stay tuned to see what's headed out & grab 'em on the cheap before they go! First to retire, two of my favorites! These files have been bundled and … [Read more...] about Lemonade & Retirement.

Suggested Summer Reading
Hello friends! This will be a quick post as I have a full day ahead of me prepping for some PD I'll be doing in OK later this week. As I was going through some files to share, I came across these lists I created to send home with my kids last year. I compiled a list of different books parents can buy/check out from the library that reach their independent reading levels. I also included books that would be great for fluency! Parent notes are attached to the top of each list. I sent these home in my kids' portfolios at the end of the year. I also gave the parents a copy and explained it to them … [Read more...] about Suggested Summer Reading
Snag It Saturday (EOY Freebies!)
Happy Saturday!!! Did y'all survive Friday the 13th?! I honestly had NO clue that was the date until my brother mentioned it last night. Then I came across this meme and laughed WAY harder than I'm proud to admit..... DYING. Okay...so my Friday the 13th was filled with celebration. My college BFF recently had her third baby and I got some snuggle time with him. It didn't send my ovaries into a tizzy which was wonderful...I mean, we really are finished having babies. Ha! And then we went to a little gender reveal for my brother and his wife. We were all certain they would be having a … [Read more...] about Snag It Saturday (EOY Freebies!)
End of Year Keepsakes & Such
If you're anything like me, then you probably wait 'til the ninth hour to not only organize and prep your end-of-year student keepsakes, but you also wait 'til that point to plan them, too. #guiltyascharged No?? Am I the only one?!?! Well I got to thinking the other day (scary) and wanted to compile some ideas for you just in case you're in the same boat as me :) Thought it would be handy to have some of my favorite ideas all in one place for easy reference. I love keepsakes. Now that my boys are in school, I seem to cherish them even more! Of course, the keepsakes I usually send home with my … [Read more...] about End of Year Keepsakes & Such

For those of you with a little more time on your hands, I'm going to be posting about different theme days for the next few days. This is how I survive the end of the school year. Starting With the End in Mind – End of Year Portfolios
Starting with the end in mind. That pretty much sums up my approach to teaching. When you know where you need to go, you plan your journey to make sure you end up at that destination. I guess I take that same approach with everything though. End of year portfolios included :) If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen me post a little teaser pic of my EOY portfolios. Several of y'all asked that I blog about what's included, so here we go! Here's what my portfolios look like when I send them home with the kids. These portfolios aren't to be confused with the ongoing portfolios that follow … [Read more...] about Starting With the End in Mind – End of Year Portfolios
Ice Cream, Graduation, & Summer’s Almost Here!
Right after end of year testing, we gear up for graduation. Seeing their sweet little faces topped with graduation caps is almost too much. Especially when it's your own child. This happened today.... He graduated from Kindergarten. I cried. A lot. I love that kid. And to think about everything he's accomplished this year academically, socially, emotionally...well, darn. It makes me one proud and overwhelmed momma! We were blessed with such a GREAT year...for both my boys. But the year's not over yet. 8 more days. But who's counting?!?!? Speaking of graduation, … [Read more...] about Ice Cream, Graduation, & Summer’s Almost Here!
May In Rewind {Busy Much?!}
Before I go any further, it must be said… Happy summertime to you! Our summer started yesterday and I’ve been spending lots of QT with my sweet boys since school let out. LOVE THEM TO BITS!!! To say this past month has been busy would be the understatement of the year. Totally fast and furious…and now it’s all over. Another year come and gone. Hard to believe I just finished my 11th year in the classroom! I was really nervous to go back down to Kindergarten this past year, but truth be told…it was WONDERFUL. WAY better than I could’ve imagined. I’ll be staying put this upcoming year and I’m … [Read more...] about May In Rewind {Busy Much?!}
75 End of Year Slideshow Songs
I know that many of you have already started your summer vacation, but I have 10 more school days left. I’m not complaining. I’m actually trying to slow time down just a little. Once this year is over, my sweet first born will be a Kindergartener and my baby will be in pre-k!!! Waaaaahhhhh!!!! PLEASE…tell me how to STOP time altogether!!! Well…maybe after the last day of school. Right now, I’m busy gathering all of the pictures I’ve taken this year and compiling them all into a slideshow to play at the end of year party and send home with the kids. I’ve been on a little song hunt for the *perfect* music for the slideshow. Although I … [Read more...] about 75 End of Year Slideshow Songs
Ice Cream Day Freebies
I LOVE doing ice cream themed activities the last few weeks of school. Since I haven’t met a kid yet that doesn’t like ice cream…or some form of frozen treats…these activities always seem to keep them engaged when the chaos of the end-of-the-year is almost too much to handle :) I thought you might enjoy celebrating all things ice cream, too! So here's a little freebie for you! And if you're looking for even more math, literacy, and science activities with an ice cream theme, check out these resources & what teachers are saying about them! … [Read more...] about Ice Cream Day Freebies
